When to choose lift-and-slide HS doors
An HS sash lifts from its sealed position and moves along a track. Compare five PVC, aluminium-clad PVC and aluminium models.
- Material and construction
- IGLO-HS is PVC, ALUCOVER adds aluminium cladding, and MB models use aluminium. Compare complete specifications rather than material alone.
- Sash weight and layout
- Glass weight affects hardware selection. Maximum limits require sash-specific checks; standard and optional hardware may differ.
- A low passage level
- Coordinate thresholds with floor levels, terrace height and drainage. Specify clear passage before selecting sliding and fixed sections.

Does an HS sash tilt like PSK?
HS uses lift-and-slide operation. Micro-ventilation depends on hardware and is different from a PSK tilt position.
How do PVC and aluminium HS compare?
Profile material, depth, finishes and construction capabilities differ. Compare insulation and price for equivalent sizes, glazing and layouts.
Can HS open the entire aperture?
The layout determines the opening. Fixed sections remain in place, so clear passage is confirmed from the construction drawing.
